Yesterday a few of us spent a day in Biloela supporting local charities. It was also a good opportunity to catch up with two of our members Brumo and Odgo. It was cool all day but we had a good day chilling out and enjoying a laugh or two watching the barrel race, go to wow and the car balance beam. Attached are a few pics which include a low cost bucket which was pretty neat.
WELL IT WAS TIME FOR TESTING THE MERCURY ON A LONG RUN. SHE DROVE BEAUTIFULLY WAS VERY ECONOMICAL ON GAS AND WAS SOOOO COMFORTABLE. ON ARRIVING ON TOP OF MOUNT TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN WE TOOK IN THE VIEWS AS WE FOUND THE SHOWGROUNGS AND THEN OUR ACCOMMODATION. ON FRIDAY WE PERUSED THE KUSTOM KULTURE ART SHOW AT SHOWGROUNDS AND SAW A FEW CARS, VANS AND PEOPLE. FRIDAY NIGHT WAS A ROCKABILLY BALL. IN THE AFTERNOON WE TOOK IN THE TOURIST STRIP OF SHOPS, ART AND CAFES ETC. SATURDAY WE HAD A $15 ALL YOU COULD EAT BREKKY AT THE CHEESE FACTORY, THEN WE DROVE TO THE VINTAGE SOAPBOX DERBY AND GOT SOME OF THE ACTION ON FILM. THEN A CRUISE DOWN THE MOUNTAIN TO LUNCH AND LIVE BAND AT A LOCAL PUB. SATURDAY NIGHT MELTDOWN WITH ASSORTED LIVE BANDS AND THE PINUP CONTEST TOOK PLACE AT LOCAL HALL. SUNDAY WAS THE HOTROD CARNIVAL DISPLAY DAY, WITH HUNDREDS OF CARS CONVERGING ON THE SHOWGROUNDS. ALL SUPPORTED WITH ALL YOUR RETRO, ROCKABILLY CLOTHING AND CAR PART STALLS AND GREAT FOOD. SUNDAY NIGHT WIND DOWN WAS AT LOCAL HOTEL WITH LIVE MUSIC AND BANDS. ALL IN ALL WE ENJOYED THE WEEKEND, ATMOSPHERE AND LOCATION.
